About our Process

In order to provide a long-lasting refurbished surface, the surface must be sandblasted down to the bare cast iron.

Then any imperfections must be repaired.

The surface can then be recoated.

Then the resurfaced item is placed in a large oven and the coating is baked-on.

The finished product is a beautiful long-lasting surface.

Unlike other antique clawfoot bathtub restoration dealers we do not paint over the existing surface, or etch it with acid, then paint over it. We strip off the old porcelain and the old paint through a sandblasting process, fill in the cracks and/or holes in the metal with a special filler, smooth out the metal surfaces and paint it with a special coating, building up layer upon layer, thereby making the interior tub surface as smooth as glass and as hard as steel. The special coated surface on the clawfoot tubs, farm sinks, bathroom sinks, wood stoves and patio furniture is permanent and will remain on there for years to come, no matter how many times these items are used over and over again.
